To make an account on Catalog, you'll need a wallet. We suggest using MetaMask.

1. Get the MetaMask browser extension

Use this link to install MetaMask in your browser of choice. If you're using Brave, it may require additional configuration.

2. Create your wallet

Follow the instructions in Metamask to create a wallet. You can rename 'Account 1' to whatever you'd like.

3. Back up your secret recovery phrase

This is extremely important. Write it down on paper and make a copy, then store them in separate, secure places that you won't forget. You'll need this to recover your wallet in case you lose access to Chrome or your computer.

4. Connect to Reveel

When starting a project with Reveel, you will be prompted to connect your personal wallet and those of you collaborator’s before deploying the contract.

You are good to go!

You can use this wallet with any Ethereum application. It's yours forever, and your address itself is not tied to MetaMask.

The safest, cheapest way to move between fiat money (USD, EUR, JPY, AUD, etc) and cryptocurrency is to create a Coinbase account. Once you've set up Coinbase, you can send your ETH to/from MetaMask.

It's common to have two wallet addresses; one for your public identity and a private one that you keep secret. Learn more here.
